I have been following the progress of the Ideas Factory and spotted Tom’s sculptures. Since you don’t know a lot about me, what I will tell you is that I do sculptures to keep my hands away from other things, Claymation in fact.
A lot of people laugh at what I do and I tell them that one day it will become serious work. Your work proves I am right, Thank You – PTP – Psorius T. Punk [Martin’s Deckhand]

Hi Tom, I’m intrigued by your “Video Bucket” piece, having noticed the booklets in the picture. I was working on a video installation – coincidently called “Matter : Four Pails of Water and a Bagfull of Salt” – some years ago. This had false-bottom bucket components, through which images were back-projected onto circular screens. The project was abandoned however because of persistent technical hitches. Would it be possible for me to acquire one of your booklets and if so, from where? Kind regards, Andy.

    Hi Andy,

The Video Buckets were a project I did for c/PLEX in West Brom back in 2000.
I can send you the pamphlet if you send me your address but its just pictures.
What technical problems did you have?
    All the best, Tom

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for the reply. The technical issues were with the micro-projectors we had made specifically of the piece: overheating, etc. The problems were eventually solved, only we’d moved on to work on other projects, so “Matter…” never saw the light of day. It is possible however that we may resume work on it at a future date.

I’m just interested in seeing the images in your pamphlet. If you could send a copy to the following address it would be greatly appreciated:

Many thanks again Tom and keep up the great work,

    Andy
